A Weekend to Relax

Thank goodness! We were finally able to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Friday night, we had a nice dinner at home and snuggled in bed for a good nights rest. Saturday morning came bright and early as we dressed in our orange/white and headed off to Tiger Town. As it turned out the weather was cool, the food was great, and it was an absolutle delightful day for a game. Any better and we would have WON! Oh well, Owen did enjoy a Tiger Cub celebration before kick-off where he was able to have pictures taken with the Clemson Tiger and the Rally Cats; although, I think daddy enjoyed that more than he did! Sunday was filled with naps, strolling, feeding the goldfish and a couple of golf cart rides.

What game?

One word sums this up - Spoiled!

Sunday morning fun.

A Birthday Celebration

Wow, time sure does fly! We celebrated Owen’s 2nd birthday on Saturday with a “fish” party. It was great! Owen and his friends played with the water table, fished by the kiddy pool, and put their toes in the coooold big pool. Owen seemed to enjoy the cake and ice cream more this year, but was still a little unsure about opening presents…at least with a crowd of people standing over him with flashing cameras!!

Thanks to everyone for all the nice gifts, especially the new slide and basketball goal given by Owen's wonderful Grandparents! It was a special, fun-filled day for all of us, made even more so by our family and friends who shared it with us.

A Sunday Afternoon

The next day, Seth and I decided to spend a little quality time with Owen since Sunday was his actual birthday. We slept in that morning (thank goodness) and went out later for a birthday lunch. While driving we tried to think of a restaurant where Owen could enjoy his favorite meal, pizza, and where Mama and Daddy could avoid a kid atmosphere (if you know what I mean). We ended up at Brixx Pizza, which was the absolute perfect spot. We were able to sit on the patio, next to a beautiful water fountain, and enjoy some great pizza!

After lunch we took Owen for his first visit to a pet store. One of Owen and Daddy’s favorite past-times is to take a trip to our neighborhood gold fish pond and feed the fish. So, you can probably guess what we were looking for in the pet store. An hour and $45 later we had a Betta and everything else to keep it alive! Owen found that naming his fish was no problem, as Nemo seems to be adjusting well to his new environment. Owen can’t get enough of his new roomie!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little angel, who I thank God for everyday!

Labor Day Weekend

We kicked off our labor-free Labor Day weekend with a cookout to celebrate the opening Clemson football game. Although the game wasn't great, we enjoyed the company of great friends. It is so funny how different our cookouts are now that we all have children. It was a little difficult for the guys to watch the game with four screaming kids running all over the house. The kids all played well together, especially Owen and Malloree, who were inseparable the entire time.

We spent all day Sunday in the pool and wrapped up the long weekend with another small pool party on Monday. Ah, how I love long weekends at home!

A Quick Trip to Fripp Island

My family was able to enjoy a recent visit to Fripp Island, SC. We relaxed on the beach, fished in the surf, enjoyed fresh seafood, rode the golf cart and fed the wild deer! It was a great time had by all. It was also our first B-family vacation together since Owen arrived, and we are hoping to make it an annual tradition. In fact, we are looking forward to adding another member to the family in late October, as Alan and Sheri welcome their daughter, Lilly.
