A Fun Weekend

GIRL'S NIGHT OUT Amanda and I enjoyed a girl's night out at the Rascal Flatts concert. We developed a new hobby of attending random concerts over the past couple of years and are having too much fun. Rascal Flatts put on a great show but I can't say the same for opening act Jessica Simpson.

AN AFTERNOON AT THE FARM One of Owen's favorite pastimes, throwing rocks into the pond. Poor Seth will never catch a fish! This is one of those priceless pictures that I will always treasure. PLAY DATE
Austin came over Sunday afternoon to play with Owen. They rode around in Austin's new jeep until the battery eventually died. Boys will be boys... This is the cutest video! It gives me a scary preview of what it's going to be like when these boys have their driver's license.

Snow Day

Although we got less than an inch of snow last week, it was still exciting. Owen got to experience his second snow and Sambo enjoyed his first. Seth had a little time before work to take Owen and Sambo to the park. Owen couldn't understand why we could not build a snowman so he settled for a single snowball. Maybe we will eventually get a "real" snow day and have the whole day off work to build that snowman!

Meet Sambo

Our little family is growing...no it's not a baby, it's a DOG. I cannot believe I actually let Seth talk me into it. We drove to Augusta on Saturday and picked up an adorable 8-week old black lab, which Owen named Sambo! Owen and Sambo are already inseparable. I can't tell who is more excited - Seth or Owen. Sambo will spend a couple of weeks in a kennel in the garage and will then graduate to the backyard. Seth hopes to have him trained and ready for next duck season. Happy Birthday Seth!!

Owen meets Sambo for the first time. We all fell in love with him immediately.

How cute is this?? Sambo slept in Owen's lap the entire way home from Augusta (and yes, Sambo snores).

My boys on a Sunday afternoon stroll to the park. I am really starting to feel outnumbered...even our fish is a male beta!

Happy New Year

Happy 2009! Seth and I did something a little different this year to ring in the New Year. We headed to Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl on New Year’s Eve afternoon and made it in plenty of time to celebrate downtown at the Jacksonville Landing. It was too much fun! There were Clemson fans everywhere, great bands and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. We met up with our friends the Howard’s and Rabideaux’s and danced the night away. We made it to the game the next day in time to do a little tailgating with our neighbor, Chris, and his friends. Although we won’t mention the outcome, the game was fun and exciting. After the game we ended up back at the Landing area and had another fun night where we even met some of the Clemson football players. Seth and I had a blast but we couldn't wait to get home and give Owen a big New Year’s hug and kiss. Thanks Nah-Nah and Bop-Bop for taking care of our little one, who by the way, is now talking up a storm!

Legare, Hope & Melissa New Year's Eve. (Three moms looking to have a good time!)
This picture doesn't really do it justice...there were people everywhere. It reminded us of Time Square.

Larry the Cable Guy attended the game (pictured center in red shirt). He looks just like he does on tv.

We had great seats. Too bad they missed the field goal when I snapped this picture.

Thank goodness we packed warm jackets because it was cool and windy.

Chris (a.k.a. Dabo), Seth, Rob and Jackson. We kept getting a lot of attention and free drinks because everyone thought Chris was Dabo Swinney. It was hilarious!

We hung out with Chris Chancellor #38 and his family.

Hope, Legare, Akeem Robinson #84 and Melissa.
