Happy Anniversary!

Seth and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary in Beaufort this past weekend. We had a few minor mishaps during our little getaway but all in all, we had a great time. Our romantic condo on Harbor Island somehow missed the maid service after the last guests so our beautiful beachfront condo was filthy when we arrived at 11:30 pm Friday night. So, to make a long story short, we ended up at a Holiday Inn Express many miles from the beach. While we were driving around looking for a hotel room at midnight, our cooler leaked in the trunk of the car. The smell of spoiled milk and Seth’s shrimp/squid bait for fishing is still lingering. Every time we would get in the car to go to the beach or dinner we had no choice but to laugh at the situation. Because we opted not to go back to Harbor Island we spent the day on the beach at Hunting State Park, which was absolutely beautiful. Sunday we purchased VIP passes to the Beaufort Air Show and had a blast. Unfortunately, the rain came just as the Blue Angels were scheduled to perform. Considering all our bad luck we made it home safely and enjoyed spending a day with Owen. Seth and I are making a pact that our next anniversary trip is smooth sailing! Happy Anniversary to my sweet Seth who is not only a great husband and father, but my best friend.

A LITTLE WORK….A LITTLE PLAY

We had a non-stop weekend of yard work. Thank goodness it’s over and we are one step closer to opening the pool. Seth and I made a little to-do list of things we wanted to accomplish before spending our weekends relaxing by the pool. Once we spend this week pressure washing and water sealing the deck, we are on the homestretch. We laugh at the difference in Owen since last spring. Last year he sat in his push car or wagon and watched while we worked, but now he wants to be part of the action. He loves to help me plant and water flowers and now has taken an interest in grass cutting. I wonder how much longer he will find this manual labor fun before he begins asking for an allowance.

Our cat loves Owen and always seems to know when he eats breakfast.
