2k Music & Art Program

Owen had his very first public appearance last week for school during the 2k Spring Music and Art Program. I was a nervous wreck! Because he has a September birthday, he is the youngest in his class and I was a little apprehensive about him keeping up with the other kids. Well, no need for me to worry about that anymore. Owen did a fine job and really showed his dance moves and clapped for himself after each song...it was precious! I will try to edit a clip from the video camera and post later. Happy Spring!

Spring Time Fun

The weather has gone from snow to almost 80 degrees in the matter of a week. We spent a majority of the weekend outdoors and Owen loved every minute of it. I think he would sleep outside if I would let him. I’m not sure if it is just a “boy” thing or an “Owen” thing but he literally cries to go outside. He loves riding his Batman big wheel, throwing rocks, collecting sticks and chasing poor Sambo. Now that we all officially have spring fever let’s hope the warm, sunny days are here to stay.

MY FUTURE GOLFER
MY HEART SKIPS A BEAT
Owen will not go to sleep without saying his prayer. He gets confused and most of the time says his goodnight prayer in place of his blessing and if I forget the prayer at night, he reminds me. I did my best to capture this precious moment. Let me translate what he is actually saying – "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Please keep me safe all through the night and wake me with the morning light". Now, listen to Owen’s version…

FINALLY…A Snow Day!

It finally happened; Owen got to see a beautiful, fluffy snow! It all began Sunday afternoon when the rain turned into big, beautiful snowflakes. It snowed for about 8 straight hours giving us a good three inches, which has not happened in years. We suited up in warm clothes and watched the snow fall Sunday evening. Owen tried to catch each individual snowflake and then decided it was more fun to throw snowballs in the water puddles. Seth and I stayed up late and were like little kids watching it snow outside. We were outdoors again by 8 a.m. Monday morning. Owen played with his friends Bennett and Jackson for a while and then we headed off to the farm where we had a little fun in the jeep and built a snowman. Owen, of course, named him Frosty. What a great Monday and a perfect start to the week!
